Believers Christian Church is a vibrant, Jesus-centered community dedicated to growing disciples, serving our local and global communities, and sharing the hope and love of Jesus. We are seeking a highly relational, servant-hearted, and ambitious Associate Pastor to join our team and help lead our congregation into a season of spiritual and organizational growth.
The Associate Pastor will partner closely with the Lead Pastor and ministry leaders to foster a culture of connection, spiritual depth, and impactful ministry. This role requires a visionary leader with a heart for people, a passion for service, and the ability to cultivate strong relationships within the church and the broader community.
Assisting Pastor
This responsibility requires:
1. Preparation and teaching of sermons, as needed to relieve lead pastor and available to deliver a sermon in unforeseen circumstances of lead pastor.
2. Officiating weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications as needed to support Lead Pastor.
3. Assist in pre-marriage counseling when required by Lead Pastor.
4. Along with the responsibilities listed above, this position will work closely with the Lead Pastor to advance spiritual development among teams (i.e., small groups and men’s/women’s ministries) and throughout the church community.
Other responsibilities:
· Attend weekly all-staff meetings
· Attend and contribute to bi-monthly leadership team meetings
Overall, this position fosters assimilation of the church community into the greater body of Christ. This leader uses insight and a gifting for assessing spiritual gifts and talents to bring people into the ministry of helps with an overall goal of serving the church on the weekends and for special events. With the help of the leadership team and other resources, he/she encourages others to “Love God, love people and serve both.”
All employees of the church should seek to work together in accomplishing the vision and mission of the church. Any employee may be asked to assist in other areas, work collaboratively with other staff members and lay leaders, or report to another staff member or designated church leader (when deemed necessary and appropriate) to advance the vision and mission.
