Job Summary: The Minister of Youth is responsible for leading and overseeing the Youth Ministry (junior high through high school) of Soma Christian Church.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a servant leader who is gifted in teaching and organizational skills, has a heart for teenagers to know and grow in Christ, and has a passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions.

Role Specific Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight to the Youth Ministry.
- The Youth Ministry is to include the following ministry components: outreach, fellowship, discipleship, and missions/service. Activities should/could include things such as: weekly youth group, events and activities, meeting with students on campus (if/when
allowed by schools), camps and/or retreats, local service projects, mission projects, and more.
- Take the lead role in teaching the teenagers at the weekly youth group.
- Develop and build healthy relationships with the students to encourage and shepherd them in their spiritual lives.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding activities, fundraisers, teaching emphasis and more.
- Partner with parents in the task of discipleship of their teenagers.
- Coordinate fundraisers as needed to assist the families with the expense of Youth Camp and other potential large and expensive activities (such as mission projects).
Oversee the Youth Ministry volunteers.
- Recruit and onboard new volunteers for the Youth Ministry, inclusive of background checks and training through Soma’s Child/Minor Protection Policy.
- Lead the volunteers in accomplishing the annual goals of the ministry, as determined in partnership with the Lead Pastor.
