For the past 33 years, COMMUNITY has been passionately committed to the Jesus mission of helping people find their way back to God. This singular focus has not changed...nor will it. As we navigate new challenges in our world and culture, we believe new opportunities have emerged for us to mobilize more Christ followers and expand our current ministry model to help even more people find their way back to God. We are One Church with Four Expressions reaching people who are far from God: COMMUNITY Online, COMMUNITY Freedom (based in local prisons), 3C COMMUNITIES (Micro Churches) and seven physical COMMUNITY locations. 

COMMUNITY'S Plainfield Location is one of our seven physical locations with well over 3,000 active attenders and approximately 1,000 meeting weekly in a newly remodeled and highly visible 24/7 space. It's 1,000 seat auditorium is a favorite venue for local theater, dance, and musical performances. Plainfield is a thriving and growing community that continues to bring in new families to the area. The church also houses a SportsPlex with multiple full-size basketball and volleyball courts that bring in athletes both local and afar. The Village of Plainfield is a beautiful, residential community located 40 miles southwest of Chicago, and it is a fantastic place to raise a family. Plainfield's downtown is home to several historic sites, fine dining, and places to visit and explore. With a population close to 45,000 people, Plainfield is a great mix of being a lively suburb while still containing a warm sense of intimacy.

This full-time role is for an Adult & Student Worship Pastor who works alongside the Creative Arts Director and StuCo (Student Community) Director to lead both adults and students in our live worship experiences. Discipleship and team building are also core to this role as we lead both on and off the stage.

The culture at COMMUNITY is one of fun while working hard to be our best. In order to be our best, we need to build up those around us through developing contributors, leaders, coaches, and apprentices. By building others up, we allow the mission of God to be moved forward in their lives and those around them. Our contributor team is around 75+ people with our staff team being 15+. This person will be a part of influencing the culture and worship heartbeat of our location. We don't just want to "produce a product," but we want to lead our people to intimately connect with God and teach them what worship means. 

The ideal candidate should have the following: 

• A minimum of 3-5 years experience
• A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that is morally “beyond reproach.”
• Team building skills that develop contributors, leaders, coaches, and apprentices.
• A strong singing voice with experience in leading worship.
• The ability to play and lead with an instrument.
• Ability to lead, teach, and challenge artists of all ages.
• An understanding of and ability to play and lead in multiple genres of music.
• Self-motivation to develop and execute plans.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of sound, lighting, and computer technical skills.
• Knowledge of Planning Center, MultiTracks, and ProPresenter.
